FACILITIES
The Old Southendian Hockey Club is one of only a handful of hockey clubs that has a private clubhouse overlooking the pitch. The clubhouse was refurbished in 2013 with new top-of-the-range facilities including new changing rooms and communal area. To top this, a new all-weather pitch was laid in 2012, thus completing what can only be described as the best club facilities in the East of England.

ALL-WEATHER PITCH
The all-weather pitch was laid down in the summer of 2012. The majority of funding for the new pitch was raised through the successful bid for a grant from the Sport England Inspired Facilities Fund. The Inspired Facilities fund was part of the £135 million Places People Play legacy programme who’s aim was to bring the magic of a home Olympic and Paralympic Games into communities across the country.
CHANGING ROOMS
The changing rooms were a major part of the refurbishments made in the summer of 2013. Five changing rooms are provided including an official’s changing room. Each have their own large shower area with a constant supply of hot water as well as individually controlled radiators for those cold winter games.

COMMUNAL LOUNGE
Located on the upper floor of the clubhouse is the communal lounge where players and supporters can mingle and socialise every Saturday during and after the games. Curtesy of Azcom Business Solutions, the lounge has several comfy sofas, chairs and a HD flat-screen TV on which we show live sports fixtures. The room is well heated in the winter months with powerful heating units installed around the room.
BAR
A fully-stocked bar is provided by the club, supplying both alcoholic beverages and soft drinks. Popular beers, ales and lagers are all available on tap and all bottled drinks are refrigerated. All prices are competitive; just another good reason for being a member of the club.

KITCHEN
The clubhouse kitchen is well kitted-out with two ovens, a large fridge/freezer, cold water tap and a boiling water tap. With these facilities the club is able to offer both hot and cold teas for the teams after matches. Members and supporters are always welcome to use the kitchen to make a hot cup of tea, just be prepared to make more for the rest of the team!
BALCONY
One of the most loved features of the clubhouse is the top-floor balcony that overlooks the pitch. Enjoy an excellent vantage point of the games being played, and when it’s cold you can still enjoy the view from the warmth of the clubhouse lounge behind large glass doors.

CAR PARK
The car park is shared with the Southend Rugby Football Club and has a large capacity of up to 90 vehicles. Parking is free and for an unlimited amount of time. Please note that, on the occasion when the car park is full, you are still able to park your car along Sumpters Way.
